Ophthalmic technician (posted 02/09/08)

We seek an experienced ophthalmic technician for a full-time position with somewhat variable hours, Monday through Friday.

In addition to a working knowledge of the anatomy and function of the eye, the candidate should understand the theory and workings behind specific ophthalmic tests and possess the skills to perform such procedures. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is a willingness to cross-train within multiple areas of our practice. COA or COT certification is preferred but not essential, as internal continuing education programs for certification are ongoing.

Ophthalmic Surgical Center Assistant (posted 03/11/08)

Full-time position available in a busy ophthalmic surgical center. Primary responsibilities involve assisting with pre- and post-operative care of patients. Ideal candidate will have prior patient care experience. Good communication and telephone skills are required, with a focus on customer service. Must be organized, be able to work quickly and accurately, and work well in a team environment.

Care of surgical instruments, including experience with sterilization procedures, is a plus. Prior ophthalmic experience another plus.
